He really didn't see it coming!

Right from the start this movie takes a speady pace with quick shifts from diffrent enviroment and activities that almost demand for a changes in pace and rythm. Yet it still seems to not provide the usual epexted paces for particular enviroments. I think it's definantly worth the money and if anyone tells you it's kind of cliché, all those parts are put their for a reason to make you think you know whats going on but "you have no idea!

I know i haven't given any insight to the plot...................But it's one of those movies where knowing as little as possible makes it all the better lol

La Traviata

I've always wanted to go to an Opera, but I've never had a chance until. I wasn't sure of what to expect aside from people with voices of incredible ranges. Before the performance started we went on a tour of Bass, standing on the stage I could only imagine what a rush the performer gets before they start to sing there lines with all those people watching them in silence set design of the stage was really clever but simplistic, and sufficient at the same time.
La Traviata is set in Paris it is the story of Violetta and Alfredo who fall in love but do not stay together for long due to Alfredos fathers disapproval.
I loved it and if any of you haven't been to the Opera before I'd go for it ( even if you have a short attention span, they almost have an interval after every Act.)

43things.com

So as usual I was busy procrastinating, sounds funny that I can actually be busy wasting my time. Anyway I’ve wanted to do something kind of drastic to my hair for awhile like dye it blue, cut it off etc. So I decided to do some research on different types of hair dyes and look at photos of people who’d dyed their hair blue.

I went unto goggle and did a search and some how ended up on the site “43 Things”. On this site people list 43 things that are important to them and what they want to do and lets them share their progress.

I thought this was pretty cool because if any of you are like me I’ve got tons of stuff I want to do but I never get round to it.

I’m so going to join, and see whether it helps me achieve my goals even if some of them are really dingy…………like getting my earlobe pierced, which I actually did last Thursday. (It’s a start………..right?)

Someone forwarded this poem to me and i found it pretty moving:)

I WENT TO A PARTY, MUM
I went to a party, And remembered what you said.
You told me not to drink, Mom So I had a sprite instead.
I felt proud of myself,
The way you said I would,
That I didn't drink and drive,
Though some friends said I should.
I made a healthy choice,
And your advice to me was right, The party finally ended,
And the kids drove out of sight.
I got into my car,
Sure to get home in one piece, I never knew what was coming,
Mom Something I expected least.
Now I'm lying on the pavement,
And I hear the policeman say,
The kid that caused this wreck was drunk, Mom, his voice seems far away.
My own blood's all around me,
As I try hard not to cry. I can hear the paramedic say,
This girl is going to die.
I'm sure the guy had no idea,
While he was flying high, Because he chose to drink and drive,
Now I would have to die.
So why do people do it, Mom
Knowing that it ruins lives? And now the pain is cutting me,
Like a hundred stabbing knives.
Tell sister not to be afraid, Mom
Tell daddy to be brave, And when I go to heaven,
Put " Mommy 's Girl" on my grave.
Someone should have taught him,
That it's wrong to drink and drive.
Maybe if his parents had, I'd still be alive.
My breath is getting shorter, Mom
I'm getting really scared.
These are my final moments,
And I'm so unprepared.
I wish that you could hold me Mom,
As I lie here and die. I wish that I could say, "I love you, Mom!" So I love you and good-bye.

I guess i like the fact that the poet took a diffrent perspective. I like the way the poet sounds so young and like they had their whole life ahead of them.

Energy Vampires

This morning on FOX news their was a psychatrist talking about people who eat up your enrgy and drain it out and diffrent ways you can remedy it (I know it sounds weird but keep reading) . I only caught the end of it but she deifnantly caught my attention.

She basically said that they are people in our life that have tons of energy, and they bring lightness and energy which effects you in a similar way and then they are the ones who leave you feeling guilty or stressed out. Basically both of them are types of enery vampires who drain you.

They suggested that in either of these situations you should walk away from them.

I then googled ot and found a hyperlink to Oprahs site where they give tips on how to avoid or walk away from energy vampires. So if you feel that you find yourself drained after a long social outing you might find some helpful tips here.

People never seem to fail to shock me.

While I was getting ready this morning I ended up watching "Good Morning America" on NBC one of the segments they had was on the discrimination of the obese. Before interviewing the women who had been discriminated ( mainly at work) they showed random clips, where NBC had asked random people what their views were.

I was shocked at how blunt and unconsiderate and self absorbed some of the people who gave comments were. Some of them complaining about how they'd pay for a sit in a plain, but then they'd end up sitting next to someone whose obese and would feel like they weren't getting their money worth. Call me naive but i just didn't expect people to make comments that were that hateful.

I couldn't find any articles about this but when i do i'll hyperlink it just incase any of you are intreseted.

Abstract

The questions asked in this essay are how effective are visual blogs and how do they use rhetoric to capture an audience? I used three visual blogs to form my methodology: PostSecret, Photoflavor and Streetsy, although these all varied in their visual aspects, they helped illustrate how there is more to the term visual blogs, than just uploaded photos.

My Reflections: After carrying out this research project i was suprised to find the wide variety of visual blogs that exist in the blogosphere. Before starting this project i was only aware of photoblogs as being the only form of visual blogs. While doing this project i found that your never really finished with your research and even when you think you are almost done with it something always pops up that you were not aware existed or had not thought of. I also learnt that their some many forms of rhetoric and that they can be combined to make the bloggers point more effective.

If i had to start this project over I probably would have tried to do a comparison between the number of blogggers on a high traffic visual blog and a high traffic journal blog.

Okay so this friday I went and watched FLIGHT PLAN....................for those of you who aren't quite sure whether you've heard of it, though i'm sure you probably have. But the title isn't exaclty the type that sticks in your head. It's the new movie with Jodie Foster where she's on a flight on this humungous ( maybe just a tad of an exaggeration) plane and her child goes missing.

I thought it was a pretty impressive movie. The first 15 mintues of it are probably the most crucail part of the movie, particulary for those of you who find it kind of hard to understand a movie if you miss the first couple minutues of it.But even if you don't you still don't want to miss the first 15 mins because even though its a whole jumble of facts it helps you slowly put the pieces of the puzzle toghther.

Flight Plan has lots of elements in it that make a really good movie, for starters director Robert Schwentke doesn't spoon feed the audience giving as all the information right at the start of the film, instead he gives it to as in doses which makes it all the more exciting because it gives us a chance to test our instincts and play detective for a little while ( which i absolutley love...................especailly when i'm right:).

So if any of you are like me and don't have any plans for fall break............and find yourselves sitting in a your room with absolutley nothing to do, grab some friends and take a trip to the movies and check it out and let me know what you thought of it.

FYI: One line at the end is kind of corny.......................but the rest of it definatly makes up for it (TRUST ME!)
